A popular portable cot has been urgently recalled with warnings for parents that there is a ‘risk of serious injury or death’
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission [ACCC] recalled the 5-in-1 nursery center portable cot, which serves as a bassinet, bed, sleeper, baby crib, activity centre and changing table. The cot, which is being sold on Amazon and Costway Wholesale, poses an entrapment and suffocation hazard, creating a risk of serious injury or death if an infant is placed in the product.
The ACCC said in a statement: “This product doesn’t comply with the mandatory standard for infant sleep products.
“Risk of serious injury or death from entrapment or suffocation. An incident has occurred.”
Consumers are urged to check the model number or SKU on their products to see if it matches SKU: BB0505. If you purchased a portacot with the recalled SKU number, the guidance is that you should stop using the product immediately.
You can then return it to the place of purchase to arrange replacement free of charge.
Meanwhile, a snow suit for babies was pulled from shelves over a dangerous fault in its.
The quilted snow suits for babies, available in pink florals and cream bears, have been sold nationally online and in-store at Best and Less between April 16 and June 11.
The suits have been recalled due to a fault in the snap fasteners, which can detach during use.
There is a risk of death or serious injuries from choking if the snap fastener detaches from the snowsuit and a child swallows it.
The following SKUS have been recalled: 1922326, 1922327, 1922328, 1922329, 1922330, 1922331 1922334, 1922335, 1922336, 1922337, 1922338, and 1922339.
Customers have been told to keep the snow suits out of reach of children and stop using them altogether.
Customers can return the snow suits to any Best and Less store and a full refund will be issued.
