Qatar Duty Free has unveiled a new chapter in experiential retail with the grand opening of the first POP MART boutique in the Middle East, located at Hamad International Airport in Doha. This launch introduces a dynamic fusion of art, design, and collectible culture to one of the world’s leading travel hubs, offering passengers a fresh and playful retail experience unlike any other in the region.

The new concept store made its debut in spectacular fashion with a launch celebration that embraced the spirit of travel and creativity. The unveiling featured an energetic, airport-themed fashion showcase with models styled in expressive travel wear accompanied by POP MART characters, highlighting the brand’s culture of storytelling and personal expression. For travellers accustomed to typical airport retail, the event showcased a bold shift—transforming shopping into a cultural journey and emotional experience.

Located near Gate C18 in the North Node, close to Souq Al Matar and the ORCHARD indoor tropical garden, the 100-square-metre boutique has been carefully designed to capture the colourful personality of POP MART. The store blends modern aesthetics with artistic architectural elements and subtle Middle Eastern design influences. The space is filled with vibrant character displays, creative installations, and interactive features that invite discovery, making it an appealing destination for both collectors and curious travellers.

At the heart of the new store is a curated lineup of travel-exclusive collections created especially for globe-trotting fans. The highlight is the Twinkle Twinkle Wonderful Journey Series, making its worldwide debut in Doha. This limited-edition collection has been designed around the idea of “pop culture companionship during travel,” featuring collectible items and useful travel accessories such as character-themed U-shaped pillows, crossbody bags, passport and card holders, and portable organisers. The series blends fashion with function, giving travellers practical items that double as display-worthy keepsakes.

Adding to the sense of exclusivity, the boutique also offers a Qatar-only collectible gift. Shoppers who meet the purchase criteria receive a limited-edition POP MART blanket, available solely at Hamad International Airport. Featuring deep red accents, traditional Qatari-inspired patterns, and beloved POP MART characters, the blanket reflects the cultural meeting point between Qatar’s artistic heritage and the brand’s contemporary design influence.

The arrival of POP MART at Hamad International Airport represents more than just a new retail offering; it reflects a wider transformation in the travel shopping experience. With growing demand for immersive retail and collector-centric concepts, this partnership brings collectible culture to a global travel audience and elevates airport shopping into the realm of entertainment and design.

The store is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, welcoming international passengers who may be exploring POP MART for the first time or continuing their journey as loyal fans. Every corner of the boutique is created to surprise and delight—with evolving character series, exclusive regional releases, and seasonal displays that encourage repeat visits. The concept celebrates individuality, community, and emotional connection through art toys and collectible storytelling.

Beyond retail, the store also serves as a cultural bridge, merging the imaginative universe of POP MART with Qatar’s artistic landscape. Through product design, visual storytelling, and thoughtful integration of local aesthetics, the space offers a refreshing encounter for travellers passing through the airport. It invites them to pause, explore, and reconnect with their inner sense of play—an experience often lost in the rush of modern travel.

With this opening, Qatar Duty Free continues to redefine airport retail by embracing expressive, experiential concepts that go beyond commerce. The POP MART launch is a significant milestone in its mission to bring inspiring global brands to travellers and to curate exclusive, unexpected moments throughout the passenger journey. This collaboration marks POP MART’s first official presence in the region and establishes Doha as a major destination for fans and collectors worldwide.

As the appetite for designer collectibles, blind-box series, and pop culture characters continues to grow across international markets, the new POP MART store at Hamad International Airport is poised to become a landmark shopping destination—where culture, creativity, and travel meet under one roof.
