A naked couple who were spotted romping close to a Royal Mail van managed to evade police by sprinting through the streets. The undressed duo ran for safety after being spotted by shocked residents as they enjoyed a brazen middle-of-the-afternoon embrace. The pair were then seen running naked through the residential area of Lupset, Wakefield, after being caught in or near a Royal Mail van parked at Aysgarth House, on Aysgarth Drive.
A local resident revealed online that the van is usually parked there for the delivery round, suggesting the amorous couple had waited until it was empty to either “hop in or to use as cover”. Police were called but the pair had managed to flee by the time West Yorkshire officers arrived, initially attempting to jump in a Uber.
The pair then continued to run off down the street when the cab failed to stop.
A police spokesperson said: “At 5.03pm yesterday, police received a report of a naked man and woman running around the streets in the vicinity of Aysgarth Drive, Lupset, Wakefield.
“Officers attended a short time later and searched the area, but no-one was found.”
