Multiple protests have been held outside the Highfield House Hotel over the past year, including one in the wake of the imprisonment of Afghan national, Sohail Amiri, in March.
The 30-year-old was jailed for three years for sexual offences against three lone women in the street. He was living at the hotel at the time.
Amiri tried to kiss the women in separate incidents in Southampton in 2025, pushing one against a letterbox and another into a bush.
He pleaded guilty to two sexual assaults, one attempted sexual assault and was also sentenced for entering the UK illegally on a small boat in 2023.
One victim was a university student walking home shortly after midnight on November 25. She had to resit her university year because of the anxiety the attack caused her, Gary Venturi, prosecuting, said.
