The hospitality sector in El Salvador is poised to grow significantly following an announcement by Salvador Hotel Corporation (SHC) to invest $20 million in the construction of two additional Holiday Inn Express hotels in San Miguel and La Paz. This investment is a reflection of the country’s burgeoning tourism sector, and the new hotels are aimed at the modern, high-demand configurations of efficient accommodation options. These developments will strategically place tourists in well-connected properties, enabling easy access to local attractions and commercial spaces.

    Enhancing El Salvador’s tourism infrastructure

The development of the additional two Express Holiday Inn Hotels is part of a more comprehensive plan to exploit the increasing interest in El Salvador as a safe tourism destination. As the number of international tourists to the country continues to grow, so does the need for these projects to provide low-cost, quality accommodation to business and leisure travelers. With affordable rates, excellent service, and modern amenities, the hotels will solidify El Salvador’s position as a developing tourism center in Central America.

The recent collaboration between Grupo KonKal Holding Ltd from Guatemala and Grupo Palmetto from El Salvador is a perfect example of a cooperative approach to help the hospitality industry in the country. These new openings will give people an opportunity to experience the culture and nature of El Salvador, while also fulfilling the needs of business tourism and regional travel.

Holiday Inn Express San Miguel: A Contemporary Inn Within a Commercial Hub

The Express San Miguel will be situated in the active San Miguel department, which is a commercial hub and an excellent position for the construction of a hotel since it is surrounded by tourist attractions. It will be constructed at the cost of $12 million, which will be allocated for the construction of 96 rooms and 4 floors, ad the total area of the hotel will be 7000 square meters. In addition to this, it will be located right above the Las Ramblas San Miguel shopping center, so guests will be able to easily access various shops and restaurants, as well as other forms of entertainment.

Targeted for an opening date in the first half of 2027, the facility Holiday Inn Express in San Miguel will also accommodate business people alongside tourists coming to this area. In addition, the close location to the El Espino National Park, the Cerrón Grande Reservoir, and other attractions makes it an ideal base for the modern amenities the hotel offers. Its location close to the shopping also offers guests an easy way to retail therapy, thus making it an increasingly appealing place for visitors.

Investment in the Holiday Inn Express La Paz will make it the second facility of this type in the country. It will be constructed in La Paz, thus positioning it strategically to take advantage of El Salvador’s increasingly growing nbsp; tourism area. The facility will also serve people coming to the La Costa del Sol beach and Los Cobanos. With this focus, the hotel will aim to provide easy access to modern-day amenities and be ergonomically designed for people travelling to the country with an easy place to sleep, and to help in their exploration of the beaches, nature reserves, and local cultural attractions.

The addition of the La Paz hotel is anticipated to increase tourism to the area by attracting visitors in search of a relaxing coastal ambience complemented by the comfort of contemporary hospitality services. Out of the several unfinished hotels in the country, the La Paz hotel is well-positioned to take advantage of the growing interest in beach tourism and ecotourism in El Salvador, acting as a new addition to the hotels in the country for travellers looking for strategically positioned hotels around popular beach destinations.

Meeting The Sustainable Development Requirements for El Salvador’s Hospitality Industry. Both the La Paz and the other hotel, which is the Holiday Inn Express, are set to play significant roles in the sustainable development of the El Salvador hotel tourist infrastructure. The La Paz hote,l together with other unfinished hotels in the country, which are a part of the Block Development pla,n will enable the country to position itself as a more competitive destination for international travellers. The other Holiday Inn Express hotels will provide low-cost, sustainable, and effective solutions required for the growing sustainable tourism efforts in the country. Sustainable tourism efforts being made will enable the country to gain new economic resources without significant damage to the country’s natural resources.

Along with offering accommodation, the new hotels will have a positive impact on the local economy by generating employment opportunities within the hospitality, travel services, and sales sectors. In addition, the hotels will enhance the development of business tourism in the area, as a significant proportion of new tourists to San Miguel and La Paz will be attending business functions, as well as regionally held meetings and conventions. The new hotels will also satisfy the increasing demand for adequate accommodation, enabling the country to continue to draw in visitors from around the globe.
